Feeling the heart

Hi, I’m Meg.

I wish my name was Loui... but alas I am just Meg! Loui comes from my middle name, Louise, which is dedicated after my Grandmother’s sister. When thinking long and hard about what I wanted to call this business, I thought nothing was more fitting than a family name. Photography at it’s core is documenting memories - those memories of family are something that we will hold dear for generations, which is why I am so invested in this art.

Family may be blood, it may be your chosen family, hell it may even just be you and your partner right now... but all of it is such an important piece of the human experience and if you’ve made it this far into the guide, it sounds like you feel this way as well ;)

Your wedding day is one of the rare occasions that all aspects of your life come together to celebrate the love you and your partner have found in each other - and I feel honored to be considered for capturing that occasion!

A little about me - since I was a kid I wanted to make people laugh till they cried, I will kick your butt in tennis, I would cash out my 401k for a Beyonce floor seat, and I love to sneak Chipotle into the movie theater to live my best life. We’ll have plenty of time though to get to know each other more - so feel free to poke around my little corner of the internet to get to know more about my offerings!

My photography "hot takes"

The essence of your wedding lies in the lifelong commitment you make to your partner and the shared experience with loved ones, rather than the photographs themselves. While photos are valuable keepsakes that preserve those memories for the future, they do not determine the success or significance of your special day.

Your wedding photos will include both posed portraits and candid shots, which are equally important for capturing the genuine feelings of your day. While you'll have 10 hours of coverage, not all of that time will be devoted to formal photos; "downtime" will be incorporated into the schedule to allow for spontaneous moments that enhance your gallery and help you relive the experience.

Focusing too much on achieving "perfect photos" can detract from the overall experience of your wedding. Instead of adhering to specific shot lists or curated inspiration, I aim to capture your day as it unfolds. It's essential to focus on enjoying the moment and trusting your photographer to authentically document the love and energy around you, resulting in a beautiful and genuine photo gallery.

If you have a particular vision for your wedding day inspired by a specific photographer's work, it's best to hire that photographer. Relying on someone else's style or expecting a different vendor to meet those expectations can lead to disappointment.

You are beautiful, even if you don't feel that way every day. As we often criticize ourselves, it's important to give yourself grace. In the future, you'll look back at these photographs and cherish the memories of your younger years with joy.

A strong vendor team is essential for realizing your wedding vision. Without a wedding planner, day-of management responsibilities may fall on the photographer or other vendors. To ensure that I can concentrate fully on capturing your day, I require that a wedding planner be involved.

I agree, let's talk!

“I could not recommend Meg enough - in fact, I’ve already recommended her to all my friends looking for a photographer. My fiancé and I worked with Meg for our engagement photos, and from beginning to end, our interactions were fantastic. On the day-of, we had a balance of direction and natural, candid moments. She has a knack for bringing out and capturing the nuances of relationships to photograph memories, not just poses. We loved working with her!”

the details

I prefer to capture moments over poses, memories over staged interactions.

My favorite part about this work is knowing I am leaving couples with tangible keepsakes of the time they have spent together. You want to have photos that bring memories back to you in a rush, and I want to do that for you.

I am so thankful that you are here visiting my little nook of the internet and I hope we have the chance to make magic together,

don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions!
